Microsoft is today expanding the availability of Windows 365, the company’s Cloud PC service. According to Microsoft, the platform is now available in U.S. Central and Germany West Central. Alongside the expansion, Microsoft is also testing a new feature.

Specifically, the company is working on giving admins to access a Cloud PC without needing a full Azure subscription. Microsoft points out this is one of the most requested features from Windows 365 customers.

Instead of needing an Azure subscription, admins can set up a Cloud PC via Azure AD Join on a Microsoft Hosted Network. Microsoft says the new ability if now available in preview on Windows 365 Enterprise subscriptions.

In a Tech Community post, the company explains how the new process works:

“Azure AD Join Windows 365 Cloud PC support – This has been by far the most requested feature since Windows 365 reached general availability. With Azure AD Join as a Cloud PC join type option, you no longer need an existing Azure infrastructure to use the service, just your Azure AD users.”

Windows 365

Windows 365 brings the Windows platform to Microsoft cloud through Azure. The platform is a secure version of Windows that includes apps, settings, and data. It is available corporate and personal devices.

Essentially, this is Windows through the cloud and accessible on any device. Microsoft uses its Microsoft Azure (Virtual Desktop) to handle the resources. Speaking of devices, Windows 365 supports Mac, iPadOS, iOS, Android, and Linux hardware.

Microsoft has made Windows 365 available across several pricing tiers starting at $24 per user per month up to $162 per user per month.
